South Australia Rangeland Restoration

The South Australia Rangeland Restoration project rehabilitates 50,000 hectares of degraded pastoral land in the semi-arid zone north of Adelaide. Decades of overgrazing had depleted native perennial grasses and exposed soils to wind erosion. The project implements controlled de-stocking, strategic water point management, and native grass seeding to rebuild ground cover and soil carbon.

Monitoring shows a 15% increase in perennial grass cover and measurable improvements in soil aggregate stability after three years of management change.
