Prey Lang Wildlife Sanctuary REDD+

The Prey Lang Wildlife Sanctuary REDD+ project protects one of the largest remaining lowland evergreen forests in mainland Southeast Asia. The 430,000-hectare project area is home to over 50 endangered species including the Asian elephant, sun bear, and several species of gibbon. Working with 24 Community Forestry groups, the project provides forest patrols, illegal logging monitoring using satellite and drone technology, and alternative livelihood programmes including community ecotourism, sustainable non-timber forest product harvesting, and organic rice cultivation.

The project specifically targets women's economic empowerment, with 60% of livelihood programme participants being women.
